Adobe Application Manager Fails to Install

i can donwload adobe application manager fails install , error message saying "adobe application manager has failed install" happens after around 5 minutes , when progress bar right @ end of installation.

 

things have tried:-

 

removing installations/downloads of application manager.

downloading new version , installing.

ensured aam plugin enabled in firefox.

restarted browser prior install.

tried on different browsers including firefox, chrome , ie9. using windows7

 

i have tried above process on 3 occassions each time removing previous installs.

this might caused due interference of program running @ background.

> disable non-microsoft startup services. (ref : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/disable-startup-items-servic es-windows.html )

> disable antivirus softwares ca, norton,mc afee etc. temporarily computer.

> reboot machine

> download aam : http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpid=4773   , install , check.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
