Help please with Setting up Fonts

hello, in advance.

 

by day work @ studio on apple mac, using indesign.

by evening work @ home on windows 8 pc, using indesign creative cloud.

 

therefore i'm having difficulties transferring of fonts.

specifically, have 2 problems , hoping may able kindly on here...

 

taking 1 example, font gotham.

- have been able transfer font window 8 pc. have installed gotham styles (16 of them - eg bold, bold italic, regular, book etc) onto pc, using inbuilt windows 'font' window in control panel.

- indications - when load indesign, can see 16 of these fonts , can select , use them.

- have 2 subsequent issues

 

1) 16 fonts show 8 separate fonts, each 1 or 2 styles. @ studio, in indesign, select 'gotham', , there 16 sub-fonts (styles?) choose from. on pc, there 8 separate fonts, despite being grouped 1 'family' in font window on control panel. there way these fonts can grouped on indesign? otherwise it's real pain use!

 

2) more importantly, package work on apple computer, save , take home. when reload @ home says cannot find 'gotham' fonts, despite fact indesign shows them! therefore fonts convert default.

 

is aware of these issues , able help?

where did et version of font installed on pc? sounds have different versions on pc , mac.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
