Thread: 11.10 dmraid does not see my disks

innocently, ran straight raid issues grub2. solved installing old 20gb drive. have 11.10 running not on raid disks. i'm not trying mount them somewhere. however, dmraid not detecting raid! not corrupt, in grub-rescue able ls (md0)/boot" , see stuff. ideas on do?

(the raid should 2 hitachi disks)

1. issues grub2 , raid? did use alternate install cd recommended?

2. believe need use sudo command in front of dmraid. try:
sudo dmraid -r

3. if installed desktop cd package dmraid not installed default. need install with:
sudo apt-get install dmraid

on top of above, i'm not sure if need activate fakeraid array first. during install alternate cd when detects fakeraid asks if want activate it. if installed desktop cd on 20gb disk, has no idea fakeraid , didn't activate anything.

depending commands above return result, might need whether activation of fakeraid array needed when it's not done during install.
