Thread: Canon Vixea crashes f-Spot, can't access files

i'm new ubuntu, switched windoze version 10.04. canon vixea hf m300 worked fine on windows xp refuses work. shows on desktop when plug in , prompts auto-launch of f-spot, crashes , makes me force quit. if don't launch f-spot, , try , open camera clicking on it, long delay , message

"sorry, not display contents of "canon video camera": dbus error org.freedesktop.dbus.error.noreply: did not receive reply. possible causes include: remote application did not send reply, message bus security policy blocked reply, reply timeout expired, or network connection broken."

strangely, once, after long delay, allowed me access pictures on camera without trouble. when happened, hadn't done differently, @ least know of.

help!

i try gthumb camera. i've had luck it.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
