Thread: cant get ubuntu server 11.10 IP

i installed lamp @ ubuntu server 11.10 .i type ifconfig | grep inet , ip 192.168.3.90 ......i type mum's netbook , expect "it works!" message in fact "server not found"....i "temporary failure resolving us.archive.ubuntu.com" when typing sudo aptitude update .... wrong?????

and

cat /etc/resolv.conf
i think trying webserver mum's computer, running sudo aptitude aptitude update?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
