Thread: How to show current directory as text in Nautilus

in hardy version of nautilus possible change directory indicator set of buttons edit control can copy whole directory, or change directory location typing directory want there, 'display full path in address bar option' in windows.

somehow feature seems missing lucid, or hidden where?

maybe can help:

open gconf-editor (alt+f2 , type gconf-editor), navigate 'apps –> nautilus -> preferences' , check box "always_use_location_entry".

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
