Thread: Server can't find raid 10 or lvm after reboot

i running ubuntu server 9.04. installation on standard sata drive. have large data drive created 4 500gb drives set soft raid 10 mdadm. on raid device have created lvm of 1.36tb.

last week after power outage, @ time ups decided die well, had restart server. upon boot system cannot find raid device or lvm. vgdisplay yields: no volume groups found. df -th shows installation drive /dev/sda1 mounted.

so, apparently, files got corrupted. there way recover this? help!!!

solved problem. console entered following:

sudo mdadm --create /dev/md2 -v --assume-clean --level=raid5 \
--raid-devices=4 /dev/sdb1 /dev/sdc1 /dev/sdd1 /dev/sde1

turned out raid5, not raid10. mdadm told me when first entered above command --level=raid10.
