Thread: Ubuntu installation doesn't detect windows 7 installation and hard drive partitions


hello

had installed ubuntu 11.10 alongside windows 7 before. reasons, decided remove both , install them again. after removing both operating systems, installed windows 7.now want install ubuntu 11.10 alongside windows. doesn't detect windows 7 installation , doesn't detect hard drive partitions. shows error while trying install inside windows.

i'm running ubuntu using "try ubuntu". shows 1 disk partition unknown size.
when open gparted, shows whole hard disk 1 unallocated disk drive.

tested following commands in terminal:

i beginner ubuntu , don't know do.
please me overcome problem.

gparted shows disk unallocated when there problem or corruption in partition table.
can take @ fixparts can scan disk , small repairs if necessary. better backup data first.
