Update Adobe Flash Player on my iMac

i trying update current version of adobe flash player on imac.  imac has mac os x version 10.7.5, , use safari primary browser (although doesn't matter.

 

after opening , launching installer, message indicating need quit "dashboardclient" in order continue installation.  not know how comply.  there dashboard in os, not know how quit it....

use activity monitor close running processes on mac.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
