IDCS6 -> Interactive PDF. Button rollover functionality spotty.
crossposting indd forums:
so i've got button created that, when clicked, sends user destination bookmarked in same pdf.
the rollover , clicked states work on machine in acrobat x (10.1.6 on osx 10.8.3) malfunctions on other computers here in office (acrobat x 10.1.1 on osx 10.8.3). in older versions of acrobat, rollover state flashes disappears when mouse first enters button frame.
the final needs compatible worldwide users down acrobat 8 or 9 (not sure yet on compatibility requirements - that's best guess). options? if compatibility easier options?
if isn't compatibilty problem, doing wrong?
if it's helpful, here's how created button in indd:

there bug in earlier versions of acrobat x family, affected version not rollover states work unless button has non-transparent fill.
quoting explanation of bug in 2011:
buttons indesign tend have icons each state fill of button itself empty (so can support transparency). without fill, rollover state not retain - it's down way state painted screen, , brief moment "unfilled" button empty. you'll see flash of "rollover" icon, point rollout event bubble has been fired unfilled pixels, goes away again.
if give buttons fill, 1 matches background color of page, function correctly.
the bug fixed in current versions of acrobat , adobe reader x , xi, why you're not seeing problem on own machine.
