Multiple catalogues and missing images

i have several overlapping catalogues in elements 10. largest coordinated online backup (which due terminated). has on 400 missing images cannot reconnected via online backup. of wayward images may in 1 of other catalogues or download external hard drive online backup (done last year).

1. how can merge several catalogues, , should i?

2. how serch the file in external hard drive? i.e., how designate file in "browse" dialogue box reconnect? can navigate it, what?

there no tool available merge catalogs. best can write metadata files (file->write tags...) in each catalog, , import photos new catalog. in process, lose albums , version sets , stacks , few other things can't remember @ time. so, should this? if drawbacks of merge process don't make "stop", yes should this. see no benefit, , huge amounts of confusion, caused multiple catalogs, made worse fact overlapping.

 

how serch the file in external hard drive? i.e., how designate file in "browse" dialogue box reconnect? can navigate it, what?

in pse, can find name of file, , name use search hard disks using operating system. how search depends on operating system, haven't mentioned.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
