Thread: 10.10 on old pc - use a thumb drive instead of cd burner. (no multiple sessions work)

i running 10.10 on older gateway pc , works ok me. 1 problem have had work around on hardware cannot use newer version of ubuntu , have work stay 10.10. cannot work multiple session on cd-r on nec nr-7700a burner of available burner aps (brasero, gnomebaker, k3b) - close out cd-r use disk 1 time.

have learned because of use thumb drive instead of cd-r's - on old system usb ports original usb (read not usb2) thumb drive not care - works. can use floppy drive works if mount thru terminal.

thought pass along may able use thumb drive instead of cd burner when want file away copy of on besides hard drive.

as of more. can take files share. insight

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
