Thread: 11.10 no GUI only Terminal

i upgraded ubuntu 10.04 10.10.i found gtk 2.0 still installed along 3.0.so decided remove gtk 2.0 , stick 3.0 synaptic , found out when rebooted terminal shown!it looks removed entire gtk!how can gui???i have very valuable information , data in computer , dont want loose them..

you possibly use live cd , chroot installed system , reinstall lost packages

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
