Thread: After installing Ubuntu, startup goes straight to Windows

hello everybody, i've had no experience ubuntu @ until today. watched tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73nc_mkkoci , followed step step. installed using usb drive. seemed fine, except after restarting once installation done, goes straight windows 7. grub doesn't show @ all. appreciated!

can grub if try booting usb drive plugged in?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
