Thread: Broadcom NetXtreme (BCM5761) doesn't work?


hey all,

has else run this, or have suggestions try in order fix it?

researched purchase before getting 1 server make sure ubuntu compatible, which was.

decided pick hp fs215aa gigabit ethernet card uses broadcom netxtreme bcm5761 chip.

life of me can't work.

lspci shows card there:

03:00.0 ethernet controller: broadcom corporation netxtreme bcm5761 gigabit ethernet controller (rev 06)

never shows in ifconfig device can configure.

searched these forums , found an old dead thread same issues

i'd appreciate suggestions.

server specs:
ubuntu server edition 11.10 (oneiric)
amd e-350 (asus e35m1-m pro board)
4gb ram.
