Thread: connecting to wifi printer

i hooked new wifi printer has static ip address on home network. can connect/print fine windows pc, not ubuntu. how add printer based on ip address? have outgoing firewall rule set deny on ubuntu laptop. problem? port need open allow printing?

update: resolved issue. added ip address of wifi printer appsocket/hp jetdirect option. seemed odd @ first, since printer brother mfc. whole app/hp thing made me think proprietary apple , hp. oh well, works

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
