hello all! here looking advice on next. new ubuntu. want able understand stuff.

little me: coming windows. it's operating system i've ever know well. want make career change field, figure i'd better go ahead , venture out on own , see can learn. dual booting windows 7 on dell inspiration 1764 laptop.

know: i've managed to:
- change grub2 windows 7 default os
- change grub2 time out 3 seconds
- automount shared partition called "storage"
- moved documents, pictures, videos, downloads, , music folder locations "storage"
- run apt-get update

let me ask questions me.
- there maintenance have such "defrag" or "disk cleanup"?
- have ideas on how can customize system.a
- how have customized system?

know being veg, that's because want learn, although don't know learn if makes sense. more of hands-on approach because when read something, have read 3 or 4 times. thank reading , thank in advance.

answer question one: none. ext4 filesystem ubuntu uses must not ever defraged. ever. thing should time time
