Thread: Question about installing windows 7

hi, have ubuntu installed on laptop, wanted install windows 7 alongside ubuntu.
while trying install windows 7 cd, got error along lines of: "windows 7 cannot installed on disc 0 partition 1". what's problem? how can solve this?

windows, default tries install on first partition , since have ubuntu on error. ubuntu partition has ext4 or ext3 or other linux specific file system windows not recognize.

if have option reinstall ubuntu, suggest install windows first , install ubuntu. scheme better option when dual booting windows.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
