as preface, following testdisk tutorials , scouring forums let me nowhere. found lot of solutions lot of problems, none seem resemble mine enough me solve them.

have corrupted partition table on 32g usb thumb drive. fdisk shows this:

doesn't partition table
selected wrong device.

used testdisk try recover structure. initially, get:

warning: current number of heads per cylinder 64
correct value may 255.
can use geometry menu change value.
it's try if
- partitions not found testdisk
- or partition table can not written because partitions overlaps.

, many, many, more corrupted file names.

photorec recovered of files, @ least have thousand or photos there, there lot of important executables , directories on drive.

lost cause @ point or directory structure recoverable?

workaround - got in work today , there backup. thank heaven.
