Thread: usb keyboard not working ubuntu 11.10

i installed ubuntu on t500 laptop couple of days ago , working fine. today plugged usb keyboard , mouse directly 2 of usb ports. powered up. fine during boot process used usb keyboard select boot option first in windows - ubuntu choice , in grub move between options , select one. when presented login prompt use usb keyboard enter password , works expected. when try use usb keyboard anytime after doesn't anything. laptop keyboard works fine , usb mouse works.

in searching forums found lots of usb problems described situation seems little different. reading man pages there suggestion might possible add entry /etc/modules ukbd doesn't appear make difference.

looks device recognized , there ignored.

suggestions appreciated.

one thing try booting laptop without keyboard connected. once ubuntu running, plugin keyboard.

hoping that, windows, ubuntu detect "new" device , install proper drivers it.
