Thread: Wifi Bug Workaround Help

have asus laptop u56e-bbl5. have tried few things wireless , running 11.10, installing new network manager, typing commands don't understand old threads. far nothing has worked (i see network connections can't connect). trying install older kernel... got , installed files here ( http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.38.8-natty/) , rebooted... no success. didn't see grub menu- there supposed boot older kernel missing?


other suggestions problem?

i believe once you've installed kernel, still need run sudo update-grub in order update grub menu - it's not dynamic.
